“I Wish for Death”,
Take me while I am writing,
Take me while I am sleeping.
Take me without chiding,
Take me without peeping.
You see that I am eager
for you to be prudent;
act as an old teacher,
and I will be your lone student.
The day of my death shall be joyous.
I shall finally be free;
no longer an annoyance
for people to judge or see.
So take me quick
without making me wait;
take me when you wish,
but preferably soon and not late.
