“On labels”,
People are very quick to label themselves today. But what for.
Take sexuality for example. (I don’t have a sexuality; I wrote an essay on it that I probably won’t ever publish, which really means I won’t post it until my circumstances change.) Now, since there’s more awareness of different labels, more people are filing themselves under them, e.g. bisexuality and pansexuality, lesbianism, cupiosexuality, aromanticism/asexuality, etc. But what je me demande is if people use the labels for their own closure or for community recognition. Ultimately, I think it’s both. ♦
