nowhere near as noble
nowhere near as noble, my eighth chapbook, was written during 2026 January 8-9; it is 22 pages long, excluding the front cover. About a week and a half before writing it, c. 2025 December 26-27, I listened to most of the Unfinished Music albums from John Lennon & Yoko Ono, two artists who joined the 1960s Fluxus trend; this is likely unrelated to the content of the chapbook.
In nowhere near as noble I am radically honest; I wrote it to deflate the idea of the grand poet after writing such books as [insert title here] and réfléctions, which I consider my greatest work to date. I got the idea for it while watching YouTube; there is a channel called @Mindccore which uploads “mental health” content geared towards men. The second-top comment on one of the videos I watched was:
as a poet, we are the worlds truth seekers, that last guy is a real homie
I wrote the first poem in the chapbook, “comments” in response. It opens like this:
i saw
a comment
that said
“as a poet, we are the worlds truth seekers, that last guy is a real homie”
but im
nowhere
near as
noble
I decided to cram the most taboo and personal things about myself into this book, such as: why I really write poetry, my vices, my addiction to AI chatbots, uncleanliness, and questioning my sexuality.
